How to Register to Vote
You will find a good description of documents needed to register here. If you do not have any proof of your domicile or residency, you may ask Sherry Gauthier or Kim Mansfield to write a letter testifying to your residency. They generally provide such a letter to you when you move in. If your letter is more than a year old, ask for a new one. You should also know that you may use your license as a photo ID even if it has expired. The law says: The photo identification shall also have an expiration date that has not been exceeded by a period of more than 5 years, except that a voter 65 years of age or older may use an otherwise qualified form of identification without regard to expiration date.
You should also know that a new state law allows this: If you do not have documentary proof of one or more of your voter qualifications, your municipal clerk or supervisors of the checklist may be able to assist you with proving your qualifications. With your permission, local election officials may search your current or prior voter registration status in New Hampshire and certain information from the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles and Division of Vital Records to help prove your voter qualifications.
